Dear CAC Members and Friends,

Did you miss your chance to make a New Year’s resolution a few weeks ago? Don't worry! CAC has a celebration dinner for lunar New Year on February 16th. Please come and join us at Gala Manor in Flushing New York. In addition to a gourmet round table dinner, CAC has hired a professional DJ and has prepared a lot of fun activities for you. We will have line dancing, karaoke, a raffle, and other exciting activities.

About the Speaker

Dr. Gim Seow is a faculty at the University of Connecticut and an adjunct faculty at the New York Institute of Finance. His areas of expertise include accounting for derivatives, financial accounting, and capital markets research. Dr. Seow served as an Academic Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, where he contributed to the Derivatives and Hedging Project and helped develop the Derivatives Training Manual.

The Chicago Chapter of Chinese Actuarial Club is honored to have Mr. David Liu, PhD., to lead a discussion of the Chinese insurance market. David is the Chief Advisor of Zurich Greater China. He has extensive experience in the Chinese insurance market. Before moving back to China, he was Chairman of Aon China 1995 - 2005. From 1971-1974, he was professor of mathematics at UICC. The topics will cover the market trend (Life, Health, and P&C) and how actuaries can contribute to and benefit from the success of the market.
