The Senior Associate works collaboratively with consultants and other practice staff on projects addressing a wide variety of issues related to the design and management of health, prescription drug, dental, life and disability health plans. Additionally, the Senior Associate will work with various staff members on a task or project basis, reviewing work for quality and completeness and, enhancing the professional development of junior staff members. Projects and/or responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: Plan design and competitive benchmarking, Claim cost analysis and rate projections, Vendor management including settlements and renewals, Development of bid specifications, Analysis of proposals, Project management and planning, Budget Projections, IBNR analysis, Quarterly and annual financial report. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience within a consulting/professional service and/or insurance carrier or HMO environment(s) serving the group health market; possess basic health & welfare benefit plan knowledge including exposure to underwriting principles and techniques; have excellent interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills and requisite software and computer skills. Pursuit of an MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
