A prominent Reinsurance Company is looking for a Vice President (Actuary or Senior Actuary) with a Life (or Life & Health) Actuarial background to work in Business Product Development & Strategy. This is the perfect opportunity for a strategic thinker who wants to work globally in analyzing the portfolio and developing a framework for consistent group life portfolio monitoring that will ensure future profitability. Offering high visibility and career advancement potential, this position will focus on ensuring that relevant strategies, performance and issues are considered in group portfolio analysis. It will also include support of the products division’s portfolio steering efforts by coordinating with identified de-centralized portfolio analysts on group-wide portfolio analytics. Responsibilities: conduct deep-dive analysis on key global portfolios, which are identified to be of interest by management leaders and products centre teams; participate in portfolio analysis team’s annual production of the group portfolio playbook; serve as L&H Actuarial subject matter expert for the portfolio analysis team; participate in (and lead where appropriate) team initiatives on developing and improving data infrastructure to facilitate smooth access to portfolio data. Internal role that does not require GAAP or STAAT. Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Actuarial, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related area; 10+ years experience in the re-/insurance industry; A.S.A. or F.S.A. designation; experience in pricing, product development, illustrating; leadership ability and very polished presentation skills; comfortable presenting findings to Board of Directors and business units; ability to contribute to full-cycle analytics, including pulling data, preparing analysis, interpreting results and making relevant steering recommendations; excellent project management skills; advanced MS Office skills, (Excel and Access); strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to translate business projects’ data requirements to develop effective action plans for obtaining and compiling data from relevant sources; solid knowledge of current and developing data and systems landscape.
