Senior ERM opening in New York/New Jersey. As part of the enterprise’s risk management and control function, ensure all actuarial related business risks are anticipated, recognized, and appropriately managed before they can adversely affect the company; utilize a risk-based approach to review business processes and financial practices enterprise-wide to ensure the use of compliant and best practices, procedural efficiency, and accuracy; manage and prepare reports of audit findings for business managers, and propose recommendations for changes as needed; manage and prepares reports for senior management on larger-scale audit assignments; participate consultatively in implementing changes to the extent possible; in addition to valuation and pricing, audit reviews are conducted in specialized areas, such as exotic reinsurance structures, ALM, and VA Hedging. Responsibilities: responsible for assessing the control structure of the actuarial processes across the enterprise and partnering with actuarial management to bring about value added changes to the actuarial process; participate on business partnering assignments due to strong technical skills, management abilities and knowledge of the Company; partner with business Auditor-in-Charge in planning and executing audits; develop and compile risk analysis and audit programs for complex audits; coordinate and compile business process and key control information for complex/multiple audits; provide actuarial support to various auditing units including Investments and International; perform and or review complex actuarial calculations; assess the control structure of the actuarial processes; communicate business aspects of the actuarial issues to management; prepare audit presentations addressing audit evaluations and issues; develop audit work papers and audit reports using department recognized formats; partner with Audit Management to identify areas where an actuarial perspective might be beneficial and make recommendations where appropriate; recommend to Actuarial Management to bring about value added changes to the actuarial process. FSA with minimum of 18-20 yrs of actuarial related experience, and a broad working knowledge of core actuarial areas including: valuation, pricing, reinsurance structures, financial reporting and ALM.
