A well known consulting firm is looking to add a Principal-level consultant to one of their most successful offices in the east Central Region. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level senior consulting actuary to take on a position of high visibility serving high profile clients. This individual will have had previous experience as a lead consultant along with big case knowledge. Responsibilities will center on serving as a lead retirement consultant and actuary and in leading and developing a team. Requirements: CRM ability and previous experience managing retirement consulting relationships; ability to lead and manage an effective team that provides regular actuarial and plan administration services; ability to assist in account management and special projects; must have the expertise to participate in developing creative, strategic, proactive and technically correct advice to clients; professional presence and confidence necessary in order to work effectively with client's senior management; ability to take on responsibility for several smaller accounts; and experience in business development. Requirements: ASA/EA or FSA/EA; 10+ years of experience; strong technical actuarial skills, retirement consulting skills, plan administration knowledge and account management skills; extensive knowledge of non-qualified plans and global experience a plus; ability to work under deadlines and meet budget expectations; effective time management; excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of management at client firms; knowledge of plans such as retiree medical and 401(k) preferable; and the ability to gain the trust and confidence of client HR and finance personnel quickly through demonstrated technical competence, a convincing presence, retirement consulting expertise and a strong work ethic.
