The Health Consultant will join a growing public sector business within an independently owned Company and be an integral contributor with significant visibility both internally and externally. The Consultant will collaborate closely with other practice and region members and provide leadership for the servicing and delivery of work products to public sector clients to include directing, coaching and mentoring junior staff members. The Consultant will also interact directly and influentially with clients on the myriad of group benefit plan consulting issues. The role will involve significant client interaction to include assisting clients in defining their benefit program needs with emphasis on health benefit programs; and providing creative advice to clients on plan design, funding, administration and compliance aspects for Public Sector group health and managed care programs. The incumbent will also perform as the lead and/or primary consultant on selected client relationships to include having accountability for the management of complex projects involving planning/budgeting, quality assuring and delivering of work products. The Consultant will participate in business development activities to grow public sector revenue and perform as the lead health consultant on assigned new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience within an employee benefits consulting and/or related professional services or public sector environment involving significant exposure to benefit plan administration activities and concepts. The qualified candidate will possess strong knowledge of group health and/or managed care plans and have sufficient familiarity with public sector organizations and its benefits plans to be able to step immediately into a direct client contact role. The individual will have demonstrated project management skills and ability to participate in new business development activities.
