Retiree Health Actuary opening in Atlanta, Boston, Hartford or Washington D.C. Be involved in all aspects of retiree health valuations under SOP 92-6, GASB 43, GASB 45 and FASB 106 and special retiree health studies and projects. This includes advanced technical work such as claims cost analysis, assumption development and review of valuations and reports. Additionally, interact with clients, providers and colleagues in providing high quality health care consulting services and assist clients with design and management of health, life and disability health plans. Other responsibilities include: IBNR and proposal analysis; vendor management; budget projections and quarterly/annual financial reports; bid specifications and competitive benchmarking. Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience within a consulting/professional service, insurance or HMO environment and who is preferably an actuary or an actuarial student close to achieving ASA with in-depth knowledge of retiree health and valuations; possess basic health and welfare benefit plan knowledge and strong underwriting and project management skills; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and requisite software and computer skills.
