Client looking for individual with 4+ years of DB experience preferably doing manual calculations and interpreting plan documents to work as an Actuarial Testing Consultant. The ATC works on Calculation Certification for Defined Benefit (DB) Implementations, Corporate Actions, and Ongoing Maintenance, ensuring that DB calculations produced by the system are accurate and meet requirements. The ATC should have the actuarial and DB skills to execute or assist on all assigned deliverables throughout the project. The ATC is expected to have strong testing, DB calculation, and communication skills with in-depth knowledge of the Defined Benefit Practice. Primary responsibilities are as follows: Act as the actuarial expert for Calculation Certification. Review and analyze plan rules. Maintain and update the Test Matrix. Develop test plan, including creation of test criteria for use in Calculation Certification to ensure all aspects of the plan provisions and calculation mechanics are represented. Mine and manipulate test data. Review and analyze calculation results in detail. Review and maintain regression database test cases. Build effective working relationships with implementation and client teams. Ideal candidate will have 4+ years of pension experience with a working knowledge of a wide variety of defined benefit plans. Proficient in actuarial concepts and functions and DB benefit calculations. Demonstrated understanding of Internal Revenue Code and Department of Labor regulations as they apply to defined benefit plans. Familiarity with defined benefit plan legislation and related defined benefit terminology. Experience with programming of benefit calculations, spreadsheets, and database applications a plus. Experience with testing defined benefit calculation systems a plus.
