Reinsurer in the midwest has a need for an experienced Health Actuary. The position will involve performing pricing and experience analysis for the US Individual Health Market of this company. The incumbent will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the pricing infrastructure and analytic foundation across the segment by developing/maintaining actuarial models and processes used for pricing, valuation, reporting, economic capital refinement, capital planning, and cash flow testing. Additionally, the position will involve producing, maintaining, and/or reviewing actuarial models in MoSes and other applications, including setting up and maintaining appropriate assumptions, performing detailed experience studies on existing business, producing unbiased projections for pricing of new and existing products (with acceptable profit expectations) and performing ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon.

Candidates should have advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from different disciplines, including pricing, finance, accounting, systems, and administration; the ability to compile, analyze, refine, and interpret large amounts of financial data/results and model projections; the ability to work independently and to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects. Additionally, candidates should have working knowledge of statistical analysis and methods, 3+ years of actuarial experience using projection software, Insurance or Reinsurance experience, an understanding of US GAAP SFAS 60 and Individual Disability Income or Long Term Care insurance/reinsurance industry and product knowledge.
