Retiree Health Senior Analyst/Actuary opening in New York for Public Sector and Multiemployer Market. Serve as a technical resource (or primary technical resource - if a credentialed actuary) in the New York Region on retiree health valuations and related consulting activities involving both Multiemployer and Public Sector employee benefit plans. Specific responsibilities will be tailored to the level of individual hired and include, but will not be limited to: advising consultants and clients on retiree medical issues, analyzing and developing health costs and trends, pricing plan design changes, conducting experience studies and actuarial valuations of multiemployer and public sector sponsored health and welfare plans, conducting reviews of both liability and claims aspects of the actuarial valuation and; if a credentialed actuary, signing valuation reports. Ideal candidate will be an ASA or FSA with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience within a employee benefits-related professional service and/or insurance company environment; retiree health actuarial (ie., FAS 106 and/or SOP 92-6) experience or expertise to include claims (mandatory for a credentialed candidate) and liability (highly desirable) aspects. Also required are strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, requisite computer skills, excellent communication (oral/written) skills with ability to interact effectively with a diverse audience, ability to work independently and in a team environment.
