Senior Pricing Actuary opening in Zurich. Manage a team of actuaries who are analysing and pricing European business. Due to the start-up environment, will be involved as well on a deal-by-deal basis for clients and/ or business allocated to him. Responsibilities: contribute to the growth and profitability of the office as a vital member of the management team; manage and coordinate the teamwork between actuaries reporting to him; work with Worldwide Reinsurance Chief Actuary to establish and actuarial processes; supervise the operational execution of the pricing workflow; review pricing work of more junior team members; provide direction and guidance to direct reports as well as ensure the efficiency and quality of the deliverables of those individuals; pricing reinsurance transactions; close collaboration with the underwriting team, including attending and travelling to client meetings, and making presentations to customers; support underwriting in driving the strategic portfolio direction of the businesses assigned; provide underwriting with reports on pricing and expected profitability; interact with reserving; conduct studies to improve pricing parameters and evaluating the profitability of various segments of business; develop or provide input upon actuarial tools; responsible for the appropriate utilization of pricing and evaluation tools; network internally and externally on actuarial subjects; responsible for own expense budget; effectively manage the personal and career development direct reports; work with cat modelling team to assure that catastrophe modelling is completed on all contracts where possible and to assure that office catastrophe aggregates are included in corporate roll-ups.
